Purpose:

To enable the delegate to become competent in the assessment and management of lymphoedema (and associated conditions)

Learning Outcomes:

•   The delegate will gain a thorough understanding of the anatomy and physiology of the lymphatic system and understand the impact of lymphatic damage/insufficiency on the body
•   The delegate will be competent at completing a holistic lymphoedema assessment, understanding and analysing differential diagnosis and therapy contraindications
•   The delegate will be able to provide the most suitable management for each patient from simple to complex presentations whilst understanding the individual impact on the patient and their carers
•   The delegate will understand the public health impact of, and role required for, activity and weigh management, and requirement to liaise with other members of the Multi-professional Team
•   The delegate will understand the value of risk reduction education for those deemed as ‘at risk’ of developing lymphoedema and be aware of strategies to combat
